Being a Cheerleader, Pep Squad member, or the Mascot for Clint Small Middle School is an honor and a special privilege. Cheerleaders and the Mascot exist to promote good sportsmanship, good citizenship, and wholesome enthusiastic school spirit. Cheerleaders, Pep Squad members, and the Mascot should exemplify both individual and group behavior suitable to their position and in accordance with the rules stated in the Austin ISD Student Code of Conduct. Members of the Spirit Teams, which includes the Mascot, have a fundamental responsibility to play a leadership role in building teamwork and helping the school achieve its goals and objectives. Because of these responsibilities, members of the Spirit Teams will be expected to maintain a higher standard of behavior both on and off campus than that of their peers.
The purpose of this student organization is to promote school spirit by supporting the student body and all athletic teams through positive leadership throughout the school year. The Spirit Teams are expected to be physically and mentally skilled in learning and remembering cheers. They are also expected to be able to publicly demonstrate the skill level and timing necessary for group performances. Off the field, they are to enthusiastically support all school activities through personal attitude and attendance at events chosen by the sponsor. As student body leaders, Cheerleaders, Pep Squad members, and the Mascot are expected to always present themselves as a good role model for the other students to emulate.
